ABOUT
REIKI
The traditional Japanese Usui method of natural healing which
I practise—Reiki—is an ancient form of hands-on
healing which seems to have its origins in Tibetan Buddhism
& was rediscovered by a remarkable Japanese man, Dr. Mikao
Usui, in the last decade of the 19th century. Since then it
has been passed down from Master to student, & has now
become well-known in the West during the last ten to fifteen
years. It is a powerful means of healing using the Ki or Universal
life-force energy which is present in each one of us. The
Reiki practitioner acts as a channel for this Universal energy,
which is drawn to wherever it is needed in the recipients'
body, enabling the healing process to be activated. You may
have health challenges which could be helped by Reiki, or
maybe you are stressed out, or would just like to experience
that feeling of overall well-being, calmness & relaxation
which usually follows a Reiki session.
REIKI
TREATMENTS
Reiki is a very powerful & natural means of healing the
human organism on all levels. It is also very respectful &
non-invasive. The recipient remains fully clothed throughout
the treatment - there is no need to remove anything as Reiki
will pass through the densest of substances. When you decide
to start having Reiki treatment, for whatever reason, it is
usually beneficial to have three treatments close together
– on three consecutive days if possible. This is because
the treatment may bring things to the surface which need to
be acknowledged & cleared out - physically, mentally &
emotionally. This is the detoxification process & is quite
normal. This detoxing can be speeded up by having several
treatments close together so that the healing can continue
to help you through the initial stages of recovery.
For this reason I recommend a minimum course of three treatments,
preferably on three consecutive days, or if that is not possible,
every other day, or you can space them as convenient. For
this purpose I operate a “three for two” system
– if you book three treatments you need only pay for
two. This 'three for two' offer only applies right at the
beginning of your course of treatments. However, should you
wish to book a single appointment to start with, that is fine.
I
allow up to two hours for a treatment, but the actual treatment
itself may only take between 1 hour to one & a half hours.
The extra time is allowed for you to talk if you want to,
& give me any relevant details about yourself before the
start of the treatment, although this is not essential. I
also allow recovery time after the treatment in case you feel
“spaced-out” or emotional – both of these
are fairly common after-reactions, along with a feeling of
deep calmness & relaxation.
The
cost of a Reiki treatment is £40 - this can be paid
in cash or by cheque at the time of the treatment. For more

REIKI
COURSES - As a traditional Reiki Master I teach both 1st
& 2nd degree Reiki courses from time to time. The next
1st degree course is TBA - please email.
Reiki
1 (1st Degree) : Date to be confirmed. Cost : £125
for the two-day course including four attunements. Reiki 1
is for your own personal use & to treat family & friends
(& pets!). It includes information on the history of Reiki
(as we know it), tuition on hand positions for treating self
& others, the Reiki principles, guidance on the use of
Reiki, & other relevant topics. The four attunements will
be given spaced evenly throughout this weekend course, which
will enable you to bring Reiki into your life as a healing
